Your Role and Responsibilities
This role resides within the Cirrus Virtualization Platforms division of the CIO organization. CIO Hybrid Cloud Platforms provides the platforms and infrastructure that powers IBM, allowing business and application teams to focus on creating the digital business experiences that will drive IBM forward.

Our primary focus within CIO Hybrid Cloud Platforms is driving our CIO Hybrid Cloud strategy forward. The CIO Hybrid Cloud, built with Red Hat and IBM technologies, is the engine for the IBM cognitive enterprise. It provides the speed, scale, and security for IBM’s digital business experiences, connecting data, information, and people to bring IBM into the future.

We need leaders to join our team who will take an energetic, creative, and collaborative approach to helping to execute our hybrid cloud strategy, particularly around adoption. Responsibilities include:

• Understand and promote the CIO Hybrid Cloud Platforms strategy and IBM’s strategy as the Hybrid Cloud and AI company

• Drive the migration and modernization strategy at scale, leveraging technical people, resources, and content, to successfully modernize our portfolio of approximately 4,500 applications as technologies evolve and change

• Become the CVP relationship manager, helping teams understand what to do as part of their migration and modernization efforts and drive feedback and input into our backlog

• Track key metrics, using them to adjust strategy and approach accordingly, and to report on progress

• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide support for escalation management, balance the business needs versus technical constraints

• Exercise technical judgment in working with large, distributed, cross-functional teams

• Use data in an open way to iterate, innovate, and inspire

Most of our teams are in Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boston Metro, MA; New York, NY; Raleigh, NC; Armonk, NY; and Southbury, CT. However, since the nature of our work is hybrid, we welcome applications from other locations. This could be a fully remote position. There will be minimal travel involved.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 10 years of delivery and program management experience
• Experience in program delivery with a strong focus on Agile methodologies and alignment across a global, matrixed team environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams while maintaining attention to detail and solid instincts in business strategy matched with deep analytical thinking
• Passion for leadership, matched by the ability to inspire your team to understand business objectives, solve customer problems, and deliver measurable outcomes
• Possess confident creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud infrastructure and application development concepts
• Experience managing delivery of high-quality, high-visibility products and features
• Experience with data visualization, analytics, and metrics

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• PMI PMP Certification
• Bachelors / Master’s Degree or Related Experience
• Agile Scrum Master and/or Product Owner Certifications or related experience
• Experience with Kubernetes-based cloud platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift
