Your Role and Responsibilities
Manager to lead a team of media relations professionals who focus on industry vertical trade media and influencers. Direct the industry external relations efforts to influence media and IT analysts, driving positive impact with clients, business partners, industry bodies, governments, social media influencers, and thought leaders. Act as a spokesperson to IBM’s key audiences and communicate IBM’s position in vertical industries convincingly across all platforms and mediums. Drive development of single industry points of view and narrative to guide all our market education efforts. Enable playback of client stories and point of view from the market. Enable key experts to be adept with media and social engagement to expand. The role will involve engaging influencers directly for our government industry segment and developing the team for all the commercial verticals.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 8+ years communications and program execution development
• Deep understanding of vertical industry business needs and the application of technology
• Excellent written and oral communication skills- the ability to present and communicate ideas clearly and persuasively at all levels.
• Communications experience including media relations, strategic communications and internal communications
• Proven track record of partnership, facilitation and consultation with selling team
• Strong social and influencer management experience, digitally savvy
• Global experience a plus

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
