Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Research at Albany, NY is looking for a Senior Technologist to lead the development of one-time-programmable electrical fuses (OTP eFuse) integrated into next generation CMOS technology nodes.
The responsibilities inherent to this position are as follows:
- Develop industry-standard eFuse solutions and design-of-experiments (DOE) based on it for early evaluation is technology development test vehicles and ensure its compatibility with the CMOS Backend-of-line (BEOL) process.
- Optimize the eFuse design, including the programming FET and determine the best programming conditions for efficient and reliable programming.
- Characterize through hardware measurements the programming window, in order to ensure the industry-standard 1ppm yield requirement.
- Drive failure analysis submissions to characterize the quality of the programmed fuselink, and classify failure-modes responsible for unsuccessful or insufficient programming and reliability fails.
- Work with design and layout engineers to develop and improve on the appropriate electrical test vehicles used to characterize the electrical and thermal properties of the various eFuse DOEs.
- Define electrical test flows compatible with industry-standard test platforms and test methodology.
- Own all eFuse-related design ground rules, design manual content, and ground rule waivers.
- Collaborate with process integration engineers to address any process sensitivities the fuse solution may exhibit.
- Collaborate with the Characterization and Reliability teams towards a technology qualification of the eFuse process element.
