As a Site Reliability Engineer for the CIO Hybrid Cloud Z Platform & Strategy Team, you will maintain, support, and help to enhance multiple aspects of the Z environment including, z/OS Storage Management, z/OS Performance, Capacity, and Networking tools. Must be enthusiastic about modernizing systems to be cloud optimized and a passion for looking to improve processed with more automation, reduction of toil and visibility (data) into system insights.

• Provide technical support using problem determination and problem source identification skills
• Utilize technical and discovery skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution
• Recommend and implement optimization and automation to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes and implement new tools
• Comfortable in an environment where communication and collaborative solutioning in foundational to the culture
• Willingness and desire to learn modern technologies and ways of executing service delivery

Most of our teams are located in Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Boston Metro, MA; New York, NY; Raleigh, NC; Armonk, NY; and Southbury, CT. However, since the nature of our work is hybrid, we welcome applications from other locations.

If you are hired into a Colorado or Ithaca, NY work location, the compensation range for this role is between $82,000 and $153,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 2+ years in z/OS systems programming
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of z/OS environments
• Be able to solve problems and understand concept fundamentals around installation, configuration, high availability, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and security & compliance activities
• Competency at setting up, configuring, and supporting mainframe software
• Effective communication, teamwork, interest in learning innovative technologies
• Experience in collaborating with global teams, with people from multiple locations and cultures
• Fluent in English language, both written and spoken

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge of Z hardware, software and/or network technologies
• Basic understanding of z/OS and its subsystems
• Knowledge of automation and execution of tests; automation of new workloads
• Experience with various programming languages is preferred
