Intel is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics (AXG) group as an Applications Engineer. The Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group drives new products technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. This group is a worldwide organization.  within Intel.  

In this position you will gain invaluable experience which will allow growth and expanded opportunities, within this business group, as well as future possible opportunities with other business groups within Intel.  As part of the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Ecosystem Application Team, whose goal is to enable the world’s developers to build high performance applications for Intel Architecture (IA) platforms, the work will involve interacting with top industrial and academic partners to optimize their applications to show what they are capable of on IA and to use those examples to educate the broader developer communities.

The Applications Engineer (AE) is primarily a Software Engineer/Developer. In this role, significant contribution will result when you act as a Product Evangelist, Program/Project Manager and a Marketer. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Acting as a Consultant, provide support to third party product developers.  Additionally, help developers create, or move, their products to IA to achieve the best performance of their
    applications on IA.  Prepare collateral material to capture methods and demonstrate their results

  • Author technical papers and training courses and provide expertise to customers and peer Intel organizations

  • Contribute to Intel software and hardware product development by providing technical feedback to Intel product teams

  • Make sure that software applications developed by our customers run best on Intel’s latest, and upcoming, platforms and technologies

  • Support and influence SW developers during all phases of SW development cycle including feature definition, project setup, project execution, tech support

  • Provide technical training, consultation, and hands-on assistance to SW developers in areas of architecture, technologies, code development, testing and tuning of SW applications

  • Provide training, consultation, and hands-on assistance to SW developers using the Intel SW Tools; evangelize Intel SW Tools and technologies to SW developer community

Qualifications

This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship

Minimum Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Computational Science, Math, Physics, or a directly related field and 4+ years’ experience in one, or more, of the following:

  • OpenMP and MPI

  • Python and C++

Preferred Experience:

  • PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Computational Science, Math, Physics, and 1+ years’ experience

  • Master’s degree in the above mentioned field of study and 3+ years experience

  • Fortran, CUDA, HIP, AI

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
