The Position
We are looking to hire a passionate employment attorney to help support the HR teams and business managers across Intel’s sites in China and North Asia Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
The employment attorney must have a practical knowledge of China employment and labour law and excellent inter-personal skills to build confidence in their advice and relationships. This is a fast-paced role in a lean but busy Employment Legal team dealing with a wide range of employment law legal issues. Reporting to the Senior Employment Counsel for China you will work with your manager in providing a first class employment law service to all business divisions of Intel at Intel’s sites across China and North Asia.

What you’ll do
� Employment Law Advice and Consultation: Keeping Intel legal and our business operations compliant through strategic and proactive legal advice and consultation. In doing so, to respond in a timely manner and to consult/escalate to the Senior Employment Counsel for China/North Asia or the Employment Law Director for GAR.
� Legal Compliance and Controls – You are expected to know / keep abreast of changes in the law in advance at each location where Intel’s sites are -ensuring legal compliance and controls- and advise on the consequences of non-compliance, as well as options/mitigations.
� Managing employee litigation cases – Managing and partnering closely with external counsel on employee litigation cases. Providing litigation strategy advice to the business.
� Internal investigation work – Safeguard Intel’s Culture and Values through investigations of statutory complaints e.g., Harassment. Advising other investigation teams and HR on what evidence would be required to secure safe terminations and to ensure a fair process is followed.
� Labor Relations – You are expected to understand Trade Union laws/practice, as needed, and work with the Employee and Labor Relations team and Business HR- in maintain positive Labor Relations with local Governments and the Labor Union.
� People Movement Actions- Exiting employees due to redundancy is always a last resort. However, from time to time, Intel China will experience restructuring and you are expected to partner with all relevant stakeholders in advising proactively on the legal and ER risks associated with these actions.
� Training – Providing learning and development training to HR, other legal teams and the business on employment law areas and doing so in an innovative way to engage fully with the audience.

Qualifications

Role Qualifications and Requirements:
� Strong academic record, bachelor’s degree -or equivalent- in law, passed the national legal professional qualification exam
� 2-6 years post qualification experience, in private practice with a reputable law firm and/or In-house experience with a reputable company.
� Solid grounds in China employment and labour law and how to apply this in practice.
� Business level language skills in English and China -reading, writing and speaking
� Excellent legal drafting skills
� Excellent communicator – listens well and translates legal issues into plain language
� Strong relationship building and influencing skills – able to work autonomously and collaboratively / consultatively as part of a wider team, as well as follow instructions/directions given by manager.
� Highly self-motivated, organised and able to manage a large number of issues simultaneously, prioritize work effectively, and provide timely solutions in a busy, fast-paced environment.
� Ability to think creatively and solutions, results-orientated and positive, with a strong sense of ownership
� Ability to identify and balance legal risks and business interests effectively
� Committed professionally to building a successful in-house career in Intel and developing their legal and professional skills.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
