The CQN TD QnR radiation effects team is responsible for quantifying the susceptibility of our technologies and products to ionizing radiation and for working with our technology and product partners to enable reliable and competitive products. Microelectronic Principal engineers provide engineering and project management expertise, supporting process and product development and design and. This job opening is in support of radiation engineering of leading edge VLSI processes including modeling and testing of technology and products and development of state of the art radiation effects methodologies.
As a Principal Engineer within the Quality and Reliability Radiation effects team, you will be responsible for but not limited to: leading technical work on process development and characterization of technologies and products for sensitivity to ionizing radiation and defining requirements across different application regimes and developing approaches to satisfy them. Work will include extensive interaction with other Intel organizations and external customers and collaborators. Willingness to travel in support of external testing is expected. The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits: Excellent communication skills and great team worker.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related field and a minimum of 10+ years of experience or PhD degree with 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following:
Radiation effects technology and product characterization Modeling of Radiation Effects for Semiconductor Devices
Preferred Qualifications
At least 5+ years of experience in the following:
Experimental and theoretical radiation effects on semiconductor devices.
Radiation physics and environments including non-terrestrial. Experimental design, execution, and interpretation.
Semiconductor fabrication, integration, and characterization.
VLSI circuit design, including analog and digital.
Failure statistics, physics, or failure mechanisms.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado, New York, Washington, California: $180,270.00-$288,770.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
