Job Description

Intel’s Silicon Photonics Product Division is seeking an experienced Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) integration engineer to drive the development of our LiDAR chip. As part of the photonics component development team, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Drive LiDAR PIC development
  • Own overall test chip execution and coordination including chip design, layout and tape-out, test and validation, data analysis and performance debug, reliability qualification, and known-good-die delivery
  • Identify gaps to goals, and run task forces as necessary to understand and solve any issues that arise. Develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Relentless focus on quality as well as on-schedule execution
  • Plan and drive complex, multi-disciplinary projects to success

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement:

PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Optoelectronics, Physics

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in designing, taping out, fabricating, and testing silicon photonic integrated devices

3+ years of experience in photonic device physics and components such as semiconductor laser and amplifier, optical modulator, photodetector, coupler, polarization beam splitter/rotator/combiner, spot size converter, etc.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of experience in LiDAR/3D sensing technology

3+ years of experience in bringing product from prototype to design-wins

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
