Data Scientist Responsibilities:

1. Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends.

2. Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in order to contribute to the design and development of company products.

3. Identify data patterns.

4. Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how users interact with both consumer and business products.

5. Partner with Product and Engineering Teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.

6. Inform, influence, support, and execute product decisions and product launches.

7. May be assigned projects in various areas including, but not limited to, product operations, exploratory analysis, product influence, and data infrastructure.

8. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

9. Telecommuting is permitted from any location in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:

10. Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Business, Business Administration, or a related field and 12 months of work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 12 months of experience in the following:

11. Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets

12. SQL

13. Python

14. Statistical or mathematical software including one of the following: R, SAS, or Matlab

15. Applied statistics or experimentation, such as A/B testing, in an industry setting

16. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

17. Relational databases

18. Large-scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems and

19. Quantitative analysis techniques, including one of the following: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics.

Public Compensation:

$255,047/year to $279,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits
