Concept Artist Responsibilities:
Work with a small team to conceptualize expressions for avatars suitable for multiple applications and experiences.
Generate storyboards and concept art as needed to communicate our vision for avatars across all realities.
Define and evolve vision and high production standards through outstanding story art, 2D and 3D concept art and paint-overs.
Collaborate on the creation of style guides and related materials for internal and external teams.
Communicate status, goals and manage expectations with cross-functional internal and external partners.
Use industry standard and proprietary tools to create content.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years industry experience in animation, games, entertainment design or other 3D interactive media.
Knowledge of animation to iterate and ideate loose and fast.
Proficient understanding of character posing and layout, incorporating various compositional elements including bespoke 3D art, graphic design and illustration.
Experience to evolve artistic direction, vision and high production standards within the team in direct collaboration with creative, technical and production leaders.
Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines and expectations.
Proficient in industry standard art tools and the knowledge to work between 2D and 3D tool sets such as Photoshop, Maya, Modo, ZBrush or similar.
Demonstrated experience to conceptualize ideas through development from rough thumbnails to polished final deliverables, and an understanding of translating these ideas to finished images.
Experience adopting and working within different art styles.
Preferred Qualifications:
A portfolio of work demonstrating strong artistic storytelling.
Excellent sketching skills for conceptualization.
Strong foundation in the traditional arts, including but not limited to: figure drawing, landscape painting, and illustration.
Knowledge of emerging technologies and keen interest in VR and AR.
Experience receiving and giving constructive feedback.
