As Director, RL Contract Manufacturing, you will be the single-threaded leader responsible for creating a vision and strategy, delivering all RL programs within the Devices organization through our contract manufacturing partner network.This role will own RLs’ Strategy for network design and supplier business awards, developing critical strategic relationships with our Tier 1 Contract Manufacturing Suppliers, this includes negotiating strategic agreements, MVA and Product costing, and continuity of supply management. In this role, you will lead a direct team of Contract Manufacturing Managers, Strategy Managers and Program Managers, and partner with key cross functional networks to drive organizational alignment across Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing, Finance and our Supply base. This includes developing and publishing both our network strategy and metrics to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of our Contract Manufacturing and Supply Chain initiatives. This is a global position with heavy focus on Asia Pacific manufacturing, the successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of managing manufacturing partners in these locations with a proven record of accomplishment in implementing tactical and strategic process improvements, reducing costs, collaborating with functional business heads and establishing successful supplier relationships. This person must also have experience influencing across complex, matrixed organizations. This leader will be an individual of unquestionable integrity who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment where there is large scope to influence and create impact for the future. S/he will be a self-starter who is able to work independently in entrepreneurial and fast-paced environments. They will be decisive but collaborative and must feel comfortable working with executive management on strategy, strategic initiatives and cost management programs.

Director, Contract Manufacturing Responsibilities:
Create and develop RL long-term comprehensive Contract Manufacturing network strategy, ensuring Supplier are capable of meeting RLs’ current and future technical and business requirements

Own Supplier Executive Relationships

Continually benchmark the industry, monitoring technology trends, ensuring best practices are incorporated into RLs’ supply chain

Drive Early Supplier Involvement to ensure our contract manufacturing suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps

Own supplier selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage the RFQ process, and drive final supplier selection and award in partnership with Hardware Engineering and Supply Base Engineering

Negotiation of key agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class terms, support, pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms

Drive innovation to deliver full transparency on TCPU, drive cost reduction programs to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality

Minimum Qualifications:
15+ years of progressive Supply Chain experience with primary focus on Contract Manufacturing in the high-volume hardware manufacturing

10+ years of experience managing a global contract manufacturing base

10+ years of people management and leadership experience

Expert in building Supplier Relationships

Proven background in supplier/evaluation/selection, cost models, contract negotiation, and supply base management

Leadership, program management, and cross functional network collaboration skills

Experience communicating and influencing all levels of management

Experience operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Experience working in and managing high volume, consumer electronics products launches and delivery

BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing & Operations Engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Broad experience in factory operations, quality, hardware & electrical engineering, product safety and compliance, logistics, trade compliance.
