This role will manage international and policy communications for Messenger. The successful candidate will have a global communications experience, is able to devise and execute communication strategies for internal, external, and policy audiences. Additionally, candidates should have experience managing complex media campaigns, developing social media strategies, handling issue and reactive communications plans, and announcing new policies, products or features. Building relationships with Messenger stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and the media are essential to be successful.
Create sustainable programs that help educate global press and policymakers on Messenger products including privacy and safety features
Develop communications plans, pitches, and messaging materials
Support product launches and announcements on a global level by coordinating with our global teams
Prepare communications materials for external and internal audiences such as newsroom posts, blog posts and internal posts
Work with our global Policy, Legal, and Product teams to build, understand and communicate Messenger policies clearly and effectively
Manage in-bound press inquiries and media relations experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, liberal arts, social sciences or similar discipline
5+ years of communications or related experience
Experience managing global announcements and working with international teams
Experience in public policy, public affairs, crisis communications, or issues management
Experience working with cross functional teams
Experience distilling complex policy or technology concepts into plain language
Experience working in a fast paced environment
Experience working in a large, complex organization
Background in Product technology
Experience developing and executing social media strategy
