As part of the Display and Optics organization at Reality Labs, you will be responsible for the overall optical design and product development of core optical modules for future products, and will have the opportunity to be part of a team composed of some of the best engineers, scientists and leaders defining the field of AR/VR. You will be responsible for module design, carry out the analysis to link module performance to customer experience, working with vendors and internal partners to ensure the module delivery and the successful integration with the rest of the system.

Optical Engineer Responsibilities:
Design and develop optical modules for future Near-Eye Displays (NEDs), such as illumination modules, projectors, cameras and optical sensors.

Build optical models to assist design analysis, build performance evaluation, and failure analysis.

Determine hardware specifications through tolerance analysis, assessing manufacturing capabilities and understanding customer-facing requirements.

Support module build and system integration activities at external vendors.

Support design validation, lab characterization and failure analysis of optical modules and systems.
