Process Application Engineers work to develop processes, pilot-scale tools, and prototypes for optical and display components in our AR and Smart glasses using semiconductor and optical fabrication techniques.

Process Application Engineer – Lithography Responsibilities:
Develop spin-on film coat and removal processes in support of near-eye optical components

Partner with research and engineering staff to validate and characterize new processes and materials through design of experiments that meet product requirements

Drive process capability improvement projects associated with track processes

Establish relationship of key process metrics to optical device performance related to track processes

Partner with process and equipment engineering to define, select and develop lithography track systems (hardware/software elements

applications) to meet the requirements of our waveguide technology

Collaborate with Design, Integration, Process Engineering and Equipment Engineering to define and develop lithography spin-on film and removal technology roadmap to meet product requirements

Lead in-depth technical engagements with internal stakeholders and vendors as needed

Maintain a safety-first work environment

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters or PhD degree in the field of Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or similar with 5+ years of relevant work experience

In-depth knowledge and hands-on development experience with track spin-on film and removal applications and systems. Experience with different types of track system configurations and the relevant process flow

Knowledgeable in photoresist materials, protective layers, PAB/PEB baking, and development strategies and trade-off between key performance metrics

Experience troubleshooting complicated technical issues related to hardware and process

Demonstrated to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, inclusive of internal and external partners

Experience working in a collaborative and dynamic environment

Demonstrated experience using computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (e.g. JMP, MATLAB, Tableau, Excel, Minitab)

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a track lithography system applications or system development engineer

1+ years of industrial experience fabricating optical components for near-eye displays

3+ years of industrial experience

Direct experience in performance mapping and development of foundational understanding of limits

Direct experience working on developing and/or debugging lithography track tooling for novel applications

Direct experience in root cause diagnostics of unknown/unexpected anomalies

Advanced knowledge of standard nanofabrication technologies including lithography, etch, deposition, cleans, metrology, and materials
