Technical Art Manager, Meta Reality Labs Responsibilities:
Support a team of technical artists, providing guidance, feedback, education, performance feedback, coaching and mentoring
Identify, recruit, interview and hire technical artists
Provide creative and technical leadership for innovative digital content solutions
Proactively engage with PMs, designers, engineers and art leads to define tech art scope and solutions
Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of problem solving in a fast-paced environment
Deliver, request, and accept constructive feedback with a positive attitude with objective and accurate feedback
Educate team members and partners on digital content best practices and techniques
Identify and prioritize digital content needs across project proposals
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience managing technical artists in games, film or other real-time development
Experience with production toolsets and knowledge of 3D Art Tools (e.g. Shotgun, Jira, Trello, Maya, Houdini, Blender, etc.)
Experience having supported 3D asset content creation in traditional or unique pipelines through tool development and/or character development
Communication and leadership skills to support a team working in an ambiguous environment
Technical art and problem-solving skills – understand the underlying technology and tools necessary to power an advanced avatar system
Collaboration skills with an experience explaining complex concepts in an easy to understand way
Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams
Proven track record of professional content development, including shipping one or more products using digital content creation tools
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python, C#, or C++ in a 3D application or game engine
Knowledge of emerging technologies
Experience in game engines such as Unreal or Unity
Familiar with popular open source projects like USD
