Microsoft Advertising empowers the largest advertisers around the world to reach their maximum potential through paid digital marketing, native and retail solutions on the Microsoft Advertising platform. We are seeking top performing Account Managers with digital paid media advertising experience who can drive revenue and increase client satisfaction by owning the day-to-day client management and driving campaign-level budget upsell and optimization opportunities that align to ROI goals of client and drive incremental revenue.
The Account Manager (AM) in Microsoft Advertising enables Microsoft to better serve Strategic and Enterprise clients by applying obsession to what clients care about and need, ensuring our Microsoft Advertising story is valued and understood, and building and maintaining strong, trusted-advisor relationships with day-to-day practitioner contacts at advertiser/agency/tool provider. The AM drives both revenue and client satisfaction.
The AM is a core member of the account team focused on driving data-driven optimizations aligned with client needs, executing campaigns, and delivering strong collaboration partnerships, support team/resource utilization, and consistent excellence in execution of core tasks, account transitions, and client account health.

Account Planning/Management
Proactively solicits feedback on additional advertising needs and products, and shares insights internally (e.g., with Engineering, Marketing) to gain further understanding of market needs and client expectations.
Understands and builds a relationship with the account team (e.g., Account Managers). Understands the internal and external partner network (e.g., Support, Marketing, Tool Providers) and their role providing solutions for clients. Leverages relationship with internal partners to develop client plans that meet individual sales target and client needs.
Supports Account Manager and internal partner team to ensure timely and proactive customer escalations and resolutions (e.g., with Ad Support, Billing, Traffic Quality, Editorial), when needed. Leverages internal partner network to resolve day-to-day escalations and revenue blockers.
Sales Focus
Collaborates with account management teams (e.g., Account Managers) to engage business or technical decision makers at the customer’s/agency’s business. Leverages best-in-class sales and communication strategies and tools to accelerate sales.
Partners with Account Managers and other internal partners to lead strategy meetings. Utilizes Unified Client Management (UCM) and other tools (e.g., customized performance dashboards, data, insights) to identify, prioritize, and sell initiatives with great marketplace impact.
Collaborates with internal partners and peers to develop value-proposition presentations for clients that showcase the value of Microsoft products and solutions and generate business.
Implements strategies to identify and maximize upselling opportunities and to help accelerate the closing of deals.
Seeks client feedback (both formal and informal) to identify and understand the drivers of satisfaction. Understands the drivers of dissatisfaction, determines the root cause of problems, and establishes recovery action plan to improve clients overall experience.
Gains an understanding of Microsoft Advertising platform. Shares the knowledge of the search landscape with clients to create a mutually-beneficial business value proposition and recommends relevant solutions.
Client Management
Seeks and stays current on information about the client’s search advertising needs (i.e., advertising Key Performance Indicators). Identifies opportunities to drive optimizations and new solutions based on client’s advertising strategies.
Builds and maintains relationship with clients to establish trust in future interactions. Acts as a partner to customers during interactions by being client-focused (e.g., consistently demonstrating accountability, honoring commitments).
Industry Knowledge
Learns about the industry, Microsoft’s position in the industry, and competitors. Understands and defines success (metrics and results) within the industry.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, search advertising, Native/Display/Programmatic, or Search Engine Marketing Sales
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 3+ years of experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, search advertising, Native/Display/Programmatic or Search Engine Marketing Sales.
Experience in working with clients in the the Financial Services industry
