Responsibilities

About the Role:
Business Manager, reporting to General Manager of Customer Advocacy

The role of Business Manager for Customer Advocacy will support the financial, communications, and operational functions of the org. In this role, you will partner with the Customer Advocacy leadership team to provide clarity, rigor, and organization to the budget and financial aspects of the business. In addition, the business manager supports strategic planning and activities, provides analysis to inform and accelerate business decisions, and assists with executive-level and organization-wide communications.

As a business manager, you will support the rhythm of the business, be responsible for business planning activities, and drive the execution against those plans. You will help the leadership team be effective and efficient in operating a complex and diverse organization.

Successful candidates will have a proven capability for program management, organizational skills, business operations, executive communications, and an ability to execute in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

• Partner with leadership team members to manage business operations activities such as budgeting and forecasting
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting as required for budget and forecast submissions for the business
• Support the rhythm of business activities, such as: periodic business reviews, executive communications, and business planning)
• Drive internal communications strategy for the organization and develop high impact communications for executive, manager-level, and organization-wide audiences
• Execute and maintain processes, procedures, services, and solutions for critical business operations
• Serve as a trusted advisor to members of the leadership team and provide strategic insight to inform business decisions
• Create and implement organization-wide culture activations, communicate themes plans from employee listening systems and develop action plans to address employee feedback

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
• 7+ years of relevant experience in operations, project management, or business management
• Outstanding program management and change management skills to organize and prioritize a busy workload to deliver on time
• Impeccable attention to detail and a relentless focus on execution
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills that span several organizational levels
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of people across the organization, including senior leaders, individual contributors, and support staff
• Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications
• Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
• Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and effectively triage several competing priorities
• Ability to think strategically while also staying on top of required day-to-day tactical execution
• BS/BA degree preferred

Location/Travel: Open to remote work. Leader is based in Silicon Valley. You can expect limited global travel, 0 – 25%, contingent upon Covid-19 restrictions.

In the State of Colorado, the salary range for this role is from $113,900 to $171,500

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
