Microsoft Advertising is a worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services organization on the cutting edge of the digital advertising industry. We are the engine that powers the buying and selling of Display, Native, and Search advertising across Microsoft’s digital consumer portfolio. The Global Operations team is the enablement arm of the MSA organization, and our mission is to empower our advertising sales & service teams around the world to maximize client satisfaction & revenue.
The Network Quality and Policy team within Global Operations manages the monetization engine for online advertising services. We work with multiple teams driving network management and improvements including engineering, advertising marketing/sales, and product management, all in service to providing a safe and valuable network for our advertisers and partners.
We are currently seeking a Policy Analyst to join our Network Quality and Policy team. This position will drive direct engagement with strategic partners and assist in strategic policy positions. The Policy Analyst will be responsible for managing quality and policy process with strategic partners, including policy education, communications and external engagement related to the online advertising business, with a specific focus on partner policy experience, network quality impact, improvement and optimization projects and deep understanding of associated advertiser and product policies. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring teams understand strategic partner policy purpose, application and enforcement, our strategic partner comprehension of how policy will be applied to them and for providing feedback into policy trade-offs ensuring advertiser and partner satisfaction and end-user experience, while limiting risk.
Key measures of success include preserving the long-term health of the marketplace, reducing partner friction, reducing risk, maintaining user experience, providing sufficient transparency while maintaining advertiser and partner satisfaction.
Responsibilities
The role requires strong partnership for success across the business and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in key areas with the following responsibilities:
Provide policy insight, trends, and influence policy design.
Develop policy insights pertaining to partners on the Microsoft Advertising Partner Network.
Contribute to policy go-to-market and marketplace management strategy.
Partner with engineering to transform policy requirements into enforcement mechanisms.
Provide the voice of policy in end-to-end new implementation assessments.
Build and represent the quality story for Partner Account Management and Advertiser Experience PM.
Assist in escalation closure and create improvement accountability through joint action plans.
Coordinate policy compliance remedies and termination.
Coordinate with a broad set of stakeholders to build policy resources, expertise, and deeper understanding of policy application.
Support stakeholder teams through policy escalations.
Coordinate with Partner Account Management to assist in sales enablement and opportunity pitch.
Provide continuous feedback and drive improvements to partner policy language, FAQs, and quality requirements in support of ongoing growth and optimization.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1+ Years of previous experience in at least two or more of the following areas: policy/regulatory or risk management (public or commercial), search advertising, management consulting, online business, media/advertising, and analytics and research.
The ability to interpret policy relying on policy documents, principles, and business practices.
Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex insights to focus on the critical issues and actionable opportunities.
Apply operational rigor in facilitating a virtual team composed of key stakeholders across the enterprise; track record of influencing others and developing relationships of trust; ability to drive others to set and attain goals; confidence, poise, and the ability to manage projects, meetings and facilitate groups to a decision.
Experience in complex relationship management, excellent listening, and problem disaggregation skills.
World-class written/verbal communication, and presentation skills and the ability to verbally defend and advocate for policy decisions.
Exceptional conceptual and analytical thinking; ability to understand key trends and levers that drive the business and translate strategic and technical concepts into policy.
Data driven, detail oriented & thorough, with a professional work ethic. Transform data-driven insights into policy insights.
Comfort with taking on multiple roles, pushing your competencies and growing outside of comfort zone.
Proven capacity to maneuver within complex global organizations and deal with ambiguity.
Business acumen and strong analytical orientation with ability to drive and attain goals.
Must be willing to travel approximately 10%, (75/25 domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications:
Digital Advertising (Search, Display, Native) experience preferred.
Track record of success in dealing effectively with projects entailing frequent interaction with stakeholders at various levels.
Strong ability to learn through self-study and assimilate information quickly and accurately.
Project Management and Analytical skills required. MS Office Proficiency.
Track record of success in engaging with strategic customers and account managers to offer policy insights while maintaining our business requirements.
