We are looking for a Visual Designer who can operate and create in a fast-paced environment, to help nurture, grow and evolve the Microsoft Employee experience brand, in an energetic atmosphere characterized by passion, creativity and collaboration. Together with the team, you’ll endeavor to inspire and develop well-crafted ideas and solutions that pave the way toward a shared vision of our future design, UX, and brand standards.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their talent for design, design systems, conceptual thinking, and inclusive design. You should also have a strong aesthetic and the ability to simplify complex ideas.
Responsibilities
Create visual designs for cross-platform experiences, with a good understanding of user and business needs
Tell compelling end-to-end visual stories partnering closely with other designers, content strategy, and marketing.
Help solve design problems in simple and intuitive ways, blending together brand personality, visual, and potentially motion, to create delightful experiences
Create visual design guidelines by abstracting and modularizing design patterns
Give data meaning through beautiful and functional information visualization
Have an excellent eye for detail, a strong sense of modern aesthetics, and execute to the highest standards
Collaborate effectively with product and interaction designers to grow designs from low fidelity wireframes to full fidelity solutions
Work with the Centralized Coherence Team to ensure all experiences are compliant with our Design System, innovating new patters in collaboration with Coherence where necessary
Rapidly iterate through multiple concepts, striving to find the best solutions and communicate solid rationale with stakeholders for design choices
Work closely with the engineering teams to ensure that designs are implemented correctly
In partnership with Research, develop strategies for validating design work
Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant design experience with proven success in working with partners and customers
Eye and passion for product quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Experience Designing and prototyping with a variety of tools, including Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Online portfolio demonstrating range of experience
Innate curiosity, data driven, and ability to self-start in an ambiguous and rapidly changing startup-like environment, growth mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and agilely
Have familiarity with user-centered design process and ability to leverage research insights to identify user needs, explore, iterate, and define solutions that we can validate with users.
An active listener with a proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from reviewers and stakeholders
