As a quantitative or mixed-methods Researcher on our Foundational Research team, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to understand the hybrid workplace. User experience is at the forefront of Microsoft’s Future of Work effort. You will work with other Researchers and stakeholders from the broader orgs to develop innovative experiences and bring essential employee tasks together to help employees enjoy their lives at work.
Responsibilities
Partner closely with key stakeholders across design, engineering, data science, and leadership to establish trust and deliver actionable insights in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Help develop and manage various listening channels (e.g., large surveys) to understand user sentiment, satisfaction, and perception.
Develop creative methods to understand the complexity of our employees and become a subject matter expert in employee experience.
Utilize both qualitative and quantitative research methods to collect and analyze user behaviors through in-depth interviews, surveys, benchmarking studies, and other data points.
Prioritize effectively by identifying the most burning problems to solve.
Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through memorable ways.
Qualifications
1-3+ years with mixed methods user experience research, design research, product research or equivalent (i.e., hands on experience) so that you have successes and failures to draw upon.
A Master’s degree in HCI, cognitive or experimental psychology, sociology, business planning OR a BA/BS related to one of the above fields with significant academic or industry experience.
Proficiency in quantitative or mixed methods to design, analyze, and present research (e.g., survey design and inferential statistical analysis).
Experience across a variety of research techniques including in-depth interviews, usability studies, survey design, and more.
Demonstrated agility, creativity, and growth mindset applied to large projects working collaboratively with other stakeholders.
A portfolio that demonstrates solid research techniques and the ability to make a meaningful impact.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong attention to visual details.
A passion for articulating how you understand customer needs, and ability to influence others.
