Responsibilities
Develop executive communications content for key external audiences, including customers, business and IT decision makers, knowledge workers, frontline workers and investors.
This includes editorial content and programming and partnering with event producers on end-to-end event production.
Contribute to development of our Modern Work narrative broadly and help communicate how work is changing — and the impact this change has on people and organizations — and translate that narrative across mediums in a compelling and impactful way.
Write speeches, blogs, LinkedIn posts and articles, press quotes, social media content, video scripts, and other talking points, as well as development of visual content such as PowerPoint decks for speeches.
Manage the speaking event calendar and develop and own the operational rhythm of business, as well as workback scheduled for speaking engagements; ensure operational rigor in our process and sufficient lead time in our preparedness approach.
Draft briefing documents in partnership with analyst, PR, and customer account teams. Write General Manager-authored content for the Microsoft 365 blog.
Partner with Future of Work editorial lead on development of original content for WorkLab.
Demonstrate ability to ‘think and conceptualize in the digital medium’ to develop creative concepts for digital events and presentations.
Partner with a PowerPoint designer on development of visuals and PowerPoint slides for customer pitch decks and presentations.
Provide operational and logistical support for digital and onsite events.
Manage and evaluate incoming speaking requests to determine and manage appropriate format, content, and deliverables end-to-end with key stakeholders.
Proactively seek out speaking and authorship opportunities aligned to thought leadership priorities Research speech subject matter and find the most impactful stories and synthesize talking points and messaging from other teams.
Partner with the Corporate PR and AR team on press and analyst engagements Measure the outcomes of engagements to evaluate impact, learn and improve.
Qualifications

Successful track record of crafting stories that change perceptions, build emotional connection and achieve business results
A passion for technology and the ability to translate complex ideas into simple, clear prose.
Exceptional written communications skills.
Proven communications, speech writing, and PR content development experience, as well as foundational PowerPoint skills.
Written samples of work will be required during the interview process.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize the complex and take multiple, complicated, disparate inputs from a variety of sources and evidence, and transform it into simple, clear, succinct, elegant, and compelling communication.
Highly comfortable in a fast-paced team environment; high capacity for multi-tasking and able to manage multiple high-stakes deliverables and projects simultaneously, and resilient under pressure.
Successful track record of building collaborative partnerships and setting a high-quality bar while driving hard for results.
Strong collaborator with excellent stakeholder management skills who enjoys working across teams to achieve a common goal.
Executive maturity and ability to influence for impact.
Curiosity, self-awareness, and a desire to test and learn using data as a success metric.
Have examples of Blogs, Videos, Customer Presentations, Events, and/or Inspirational Storytelling. Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
7-8 years of relevant executive communications/journalism/PR or other experience.
Have worked specifically as an Executive Communications professional.
Have written speches and bylined content for/on behalf of executives.
