Content & Learning’s mission is to skill the workforce of the future by educating every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more with Microsoft technologies. Accountable for skilling initiatives that encompass cross-company collaborations and the platform for publishing content and creating 1st party experiences the content team focuses on what content our customers need to pursue their skilling journey goals.
The Content Strategy team within content ensures customers have the right content, at the right time, in the right place, to achieve their goals. We create strategy to help customers get the content they need to be confident in their skills, knowledge, and capabilities so that they can be successful with our products. We collaborate across the organization to understand customer needs, align with Microsoft strategy, and leverage our portfolios of content to enable customers.
We are looking for a strong program manager with experience in product and strategy development that understands learning and development customers and business needs, formulates a strategy to meet those needs, speaks to that strategy and ensure the work to accomplish that strategy is presented as a detailed, prioritized, justified (against the business) backlog of content production user stories.
This position is remote friendly.
Responsibilities
In this cross-functional role, you will work on a team of strategy program managers and collaborate with stakeholders across Microsoft to identify and assess content opportunities, develop and validate strategy to meet customer and stakeholder needs, plan and prioritize resources, pipeline content requests to the content development team, and continuously improve the portfolio of Microsoft’s technical content.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Stakeholder management to collect customer needs and priorities.
Understand the market, competitors, and industry as part of the formulation of the strategy.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders across a wide array of disciplines and teams, including product engineering and marketing.
Communicate content portfolio and business strategy and how the team’s work aligns to broader goals.
Manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross functional environment.
Formulate a content portfolio strategy, socialize it across the business and gain alignment.
Plan content for the content production crews to deliver and strategize to create an effective roadmap.
Define business impact measures, collaborate to instrument content, and review content impact against strategy.
Reflect on content insights, ensure execution of the plans, measure the impact, monitor the health, and drive improvements to the content to better serve customers.
Speak to the strategy and progress against the strategy across the business.
Foster an inclusive work environment where every employee can effectively engage and wants to be part of the team driving customer success.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in product management, program management, product strategy, or a similar discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep customer obsession and the ability to define strategies that prioritize their needs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to clearly articulate and share your vision and plans, and constructively address opposing views.
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across large organizations and multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high priority projects.
Consistent application of empathy to understand customers, contributors, partners, and stakeholders from their perspective.
Enthusiasm about the intersection of technology and learning.
Experience with strategic foresight and strategy frameworks.
Experience with agile methodologies and tools.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
The salary range for this role is from $153,100 to $224,500 in Colorado.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
