The Resource Scheduling Service team is building the next generation of microservices to power new time/resource management experiences. We’re looking for a Principal software engineer to write scalable, maintainable, efficient service code to run on tens of thousands of servers supporting millions of customers every day. We are looking for someone with experience building high scalable microservices, and can act as a technical lead, working with partner teams to deliver on the next generation of resource/time management experiences.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing the core Resource/Time Management data model and business logic used by all Outlook clients and other M365 products to power time management and resource scheduling scenarios.
Be a technical lead for the team, write well-factored, well-tested code, and the monitoring systems to ensure it functions well in production. Use telemetry to discover bugs, customer pain points, and other opportunities for improvement to make our users’ lives a little better every day. Work closely with engineers up and down the stack to deliver seamless experiences at a massive scale.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience
7+ years OOP development experience (C# is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with gRPC is highly desirable
Strong customer focus
Excellent project management and communication skills
Excellent cross-team collaboration skills
Strongly preferred: experience designing scalable, responsive, multi-threaded backend services
