The Proposal Center of Excellence is looking for an energetic, collaborative Proposal Manager Community Lead. This individual will lead the Proposal Manager community within PCoE, while also serving as a Proposal Manager on the team, leading a limited number of proposals to balance leadership responsibilities. The Proposal Manager Community Lead will serve as a member of the PCoE Leadership Team and be a core contributor to the strategy and operations of our service.
Responsibilities
As PM Community Lead:
Provide leadership, support, and guidance to PCoE Proposal Managers
Be a source of knowledge and information regarding PCoE standards and practices
Work with Engagement/Intake Lead to assign Proposal Managers to opportunities as they are accepted
Be an advocate for Proposal Managers with PCoE leadership as well as with the Account Teams that we support
Participate in reviews and discussions as requested by Proposal Managers
Continue to innovate and iterate on established processes to ensure the best interest of all stakeholders
Develop new processes and collateral material as needed to support the Proposal Managers
Collaborate with other team leads regularly to discuss current issues and needs of the full PCoE team
Assist with onboarding new Proposal Managers
Ensure Proposal Managers adhere to best practices and processes (White Hat Reviews, Content Planning sessions, Win Reports etc.)
Provide informal feedback and advice on an ongoing basis
Maintain a pleasant working environment that inspires the team
Organize training and informational team sessions as needed
Share team member accomplishments and milestones with the full PCoE team
Monitor proposal progress and report on metrics
Encourage open communication with team members and help them to resolve any conflicts or issues
Additional Proposal Management responsibilities:
Lead proposal process from pre-RFP to post-RFP activities, as necessary
Work directly with sales / account teams to understand customer needs and produce customer-focused proposal materials
Lead proposal support team consisting of Proposal Coordinator, Proposal Writer(s), Graphic Designer(s), Desktop Publisher(s), and Technical Resource(s)
Follow industry standards and best practices for proposal excellence (Shipley, APMP, etc.)
Provide proposal subject matter expertise to organize and run competitive RFP pursuits effectively and efficiently
Ensure compliance with customer requirements in all proposal submissions
Facilitate customer-centricity in proposal content and overall submission
Actively participate in quality programs designed to improve the deliverables that go to Microsoft customers
Support the execution of customer-facing deliverables, including executive summaries, win themes, capability statements, orals/demos, presales presentations, SOWs, graphics, and special projects such as marketing collateral, and/or be able to delegate sections to other Proposal Writers
Facilitate Win Theme workshops, coordinating outputs with Proposal Writers for a customer-focused executive summary and overall proposal response
Set up and manage collaboration sites on SharePoint (MS Teams)
Manage applicable proposals in RFPIO (training provided)
Schedule and facilitate proposal status calls
Create and manage proposal schedule, compliance matrices, author assignments, and response outlines/templates
Produce final customer deliverables, whether electronic or hard copy
Work with Proposal Center of Excellence Content Managers to ensure submitted proposal content is available for input into reusable IP content repository
Complete weekly report on deal status
Post-submission activities such as lessons learned meetings, proposal support satisfactions surveys, and development of success stories for Microsoft’s references
Participate in special projects to grow and enhance the overall service offering of the Proposal Center of Excellence
Evangelize the Proposal Center of Excellence throughout Microsoft
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND 6+ years work experience in proposal management
OR equivalent experience.
APMP.CF certification preferred
Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Able to travel as needed, domestically and internationally, up to 10%
The salary range for this role in the STATE OF COLORADO is from $113,900 – $187,700
