We are looking for a skilled and passionate leader with experience in technical education development, to lead a new Security, Compliance & Identity Content Development team that designs, creates and maintains curriculum paths that provide a rich and best-in-class learning experience for people who aspire to be, or are already in, Security, Compliance & Identity-related IT careers.

Customer Research
Engages with partners on customer research across the Security, Compliance, & Identity (SCI) technical domains, evaluating internal and external data and reports through discussions with cross functional and/or cross-organizational stakeholders. Proactively identifies and collaborates with cross-functional and/or cross-organizational teams to help conduct research. Leads research studies and customer engagement to define a case to incorporate actionable insights into technical learning and certification content across the SCI portfolio experience.
Customer Enagement
Ensures all SCI learning and certirication content is customer focused and customers receive desired content, while evangelizing work and sharing insights with senior leaders. Oversees and promotes team’s engagement with customer communities (e.g., blog posts, social posts, conversations, speaking at events), and identifies new areas to strengthen ties with communities.
Content Strategy
Ensures the SCI Content Team is educating customers about products and solutions through the development of learning and certification content. Leads long-term content strategy to ensure optimal content creation and serve customer needs, such as guiding customers through an end-to-end journey to leverage content/products that meet their needs across the industry. Provides guidance for impacting multiple portfolios/product experiences by leveraging deep domain knowledge to inform where content is appropriate for customers. Leads cross-functional relationships across organizations to champion, advocate for, and educate others about the impact of the strategy. Owns and leads the implementation of repeatable processes for completing, delivering, and distributing content workflows (e.g., editorial processes, user experience [UX] pattern guidelines, terminology lists, writing workflows). Owns the process for facilitating the sharing of best practices, learnings, and insights.
Content Creation
Takes ownership of the overall SCI portfolio/product experience and ensures content aligns across the ecosystem (i.e. technical sales plays) and adheres to guidelines and standards. Leads the development of SCI content plans that bridge surfaces, align with product strategy, and translate into content areas across the ecosystem/modalities in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Collaborates with senior cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., engineering, research, design, product) to understand products/content areas/features and problems to author optimal content. Ensures their team develops content by first understanding prototypes and ideation of features for multiple areas. Applies domain understanding of in-product content and/or delivers code, samples, and prescriptive guidance to meet user needs. Continues to learn through advanced projects that present new challenges.
Content Improvement
Leads and managfes the review of SCI content holistically for possible inclusion in a portfolio and guides team to consider edits that would ensure cross-functional continuity. Directs approval and review process with partners across the organization. Oversees the testing and building of customer scenarios.
Tools and Operations
Leads the development and socialization of material necessary for creating and delivering SCI content across Microsoft. Collaborates with SCI cross-organizational/functional leaders to have content published/shipped. Contributes to the tools and processes required for publishing/shipment. Acts as a stakeholder to evangelize processes/tools to partners and cross-functional stakeholders across Microsoft.
Metrics and Insights
Negotiates partnerships with stakeholders and advocates for telemetry for implementation. Identifies metrics to assess whether content solved the customer’s needs. Guides cross-organizational conversations about metrics as part of measuring customer satisfaction and/or business impact after content is published. Leverages forum posts and developer surveys to collect insights from across the organization. Empowers others to make decisions based on metrics to improve quality. Reviews dashboards for trends and ensures feedback is incorporated into writing.
Experimentation
Drives experimentation for the organization. Acts as a stakeholder to guide other teams’ experimentation (e.g., project managers). Envisions, manages, reviews, contributes to and/or drives content experiences of the future by following the latest innovations in human-computer interfaces, observing customers, and driving collaboration with product and research teams. Drives the process to flight and build content experiences. Facilitates the gathering and iteration of data using build-measure-learn feedback loops.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Leads collaborative efforts with relevant cross-functional and cross-organizational stakeholders (e.g., SCI engineers, product managers, program managers, marketing, user experience [UX], design, research) to create a trusted and sustainable collaboration with partner relationships. Builds and owns relationships and expectations with SCI stakeholders to build rapport and credibility. Influences project directions and relevant stakeholders using subject matter expertise. Drives planning for future work with stakeholders, such as identifying opportunities at a divisional scenario level, driving executive support for funding or resources, and guiding execution. Oversees broad communications between content and stakeholders.
Specialty Responsibility
Oversees procurement of new vendors to help complete work by owning the outsourcing and distribution of work to different vendors. Facilitates and approves vendor selection process to perform technical writing tasks. Identifies opportunities to leverage vendor resourcing and pursue needed funding. Drives partnerships with procurement and agencies.*

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of proven technical writing, content design, information technology (IT), or coding/programming experience.
OR equivalent experience.
3+ years of people management experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project, and/or change management experience.
5+ years of experience in the SCI technical domain or a similar technical domain.
