Responsibilities

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Perform 3D electromagnetic and RF simulations at the chip level, for chips operating in the millikelvin temperature range with large magnetic flux, using tools such as Ansys HFSS, Maxwell, SiWave, Keysight ADS, MATLAB or equivalent RFIC design tools.

Build a chip-level simulation model of quantum devices; validate it with testing

Present recommendations to the team and management regarding optimal designs which maximize readout and control efficiency for our quantum chips.

Interface with the design and fabrication teams to review chip performance, select experiment or improvements, iterate chip layout and design to achieve the best readout performance.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in Physics/Electrical Engineering or relevant degree

3+ years of work experience, relevant to the capabilities and responsibilities described above and encompassing

Experience with qubit readout and control circuit analysis and design

Strong problem solving and analysis skills with a solid understanding of core RF engineering principles and analytical techniques

Proficiency in shell scripts, Python, and development tools and associated environments

Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms.

Experience with low noise, low temperature designs and measurement is a plus

0-25% domestic and international travel will be required.
