The Intune Service Engineering team is looking for service reliability engineer who is self-driven and has strong background in enterprise client management technologies with the engineering excellence to grow the next generation of cloud services platform. This individual will be responsible for operating and optimizing a large cloud-based service in a data-driven manner, while working closely with Software Engineers to design and deliver a service that adheres to services best practices, is highly available, provides a great user experience, and meets our compliance policies and requirements. The successful candidate for this role will have a demonstrated history of working well under the pressure of multiple competing priorities, deep technical and online services skills, and can adopt a ‘live site first’ culture.
Evaluate and contribute to product and service design and architecture, help shape service engineering technical strategies, review specifications, and design and improve upon core processes
Provide operational support for day to day activities involving deployment of Applications, Operating systems, Mobile device Policies, etc.
Identify system problems and recommend solutions to improve processing efficiency and stability. Assist in designing, implementing and improving processes related with day-to-day Intune service delivery
Help build a data-driven culture by providing statistical trending and analysis using real service data to increase service health, quality, and drive down cost.
Work closely with peer engineering teams on defining and implementing product improvements to their services.
Design and adopt industry best practices for online services including disaster recovery, business continuity, monitoring/alerting, and service health measurement.
Provide engineering design across different workloads including incident & problem management, change management, security and compliance.
Develop automated solutions to reduce manual errors and improve productivity
Drive end user escalations to resolution through product improvements
3+ years in the technology industry with broad engineering experience such as IT support/service industry
3+ years of coding or scripting background to automate and improve services
2+ years of demonstrated experience in an enterprise support or consulting role, ideally as an SCCM/MEMCM or Intune engineer
The candidate must be capable of writing complex SQL or KUSTO queries.
BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related degree
Experience in large scale implementation (greater than 40K devices) in one of the following technologies: Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager, Intune, Altiris, AirWatch, MobileIron)
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in the design, architecture, and running of complex, large scale online/hybrid services
Deep understanding of Microsoft SQL, OData, PowerShell, WMI, XML and software security concepts.
Experience with Azure is a strong plus (experience with other cloud services like AWS is also a plus)
Willing to occasionally work on call (24×7) as part of an escalation path
Previous working experience in a DevOps engineering model
Ability to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to assemble, document, and present technical information to the team.
