In this specific role of a Signal Integrity Test Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Microsoft Signal Integrity Measurement team responsible for delivering signal integrity compliance through test and measurements for an exciting, cutting-edge family of Microsoft products.
You will perform Signal Integrity test and measurement for high-speed bus standards on each product. This includes determining the required industry test standards and specifications, test setups and measurements, ensuring that the tests are performed correctly, reporting, debugging product issues, developing capabilities for new and emerging standards, and maintaining test equipment. You will lead, establish, implement, coordinate, and execute Signal Integrity test & validation plans throughout the development cycle of a product, track new developments in the industry with respect to SI compliance requirements and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the role include:
Working productively and seamlessly as a member of a skilled team of Signal Integrity design and test professionals
Reviewing product electrical design – schematics and board files
Creating & executing SI test and validation plans for products through their development cycle
Performing compliance tests per industry standards – electrical, interoperability, protocol
Writing test reports
Developing test procedures for Signal Integrity testing
Debugging product failures and test setups
Reworking PCBs
Maintaining suitable test equipment
Tracking the new developments in the high-speed industry with respect to Signal Integrity compliance requirements
Reviewing simulation data and interpreting validation expectations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering
A working knowledge of high-speed electrical design and RF principles
The ability to develop SI test plans, analyze SI test data, debug test failures, write SI test specifications/procedures and interpret SI standards for different interfaces
Experience with High-Bandwidth scope measurements
Understanding of high-speed signal interface standards such as DDR, USB2/3, DP, HDMI, PCIe, etc.
Experience in VNA measurements
Experience in board probing station for VNA measurements
Understanding and experience with TDR measurements
Hardware re-working and soldering expertise
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to work seamlessly, across groups and at all levels
A team orientation with superior interpersonal awareness
Ability to work with ambiguities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
PDN measurements with VNA and scope
Experience with BERT and Logic Analyzer
Experience with Keysight’s PLTS software
Experience with Signal Integrity simulation software
