If you are excited by this type of challenge, and you love to work in groups of people who are similarly excited, come join us. We value the input of people who aren’t afraid to be learning all the time, who embrace mistakes as they show the way forward, and those who are excited to continuously improve both services and themselves. We strongly believe that diverse experiences, backgrounds, and an environment where everyone can feel safe to contribute their own insights in a data-driven, objective, and supportive way is the key to making the best workplace possible, and the best workplace makes the best products and services. Not only is it the smart thing, but it’s also the right thing.
The vision of the Azure Reliability Engineering group is to make it easy for everyone to create, consume, and manage planetary-scale, reliable cloud production services and infrastructure to achieve more. As a team, we bring together significant and complementary capabilities with tooling, infrastructure, monitoring and insights in new ways to increase our perspective. Our diversity of knowledge and experience comes together for the benefit of our users, our colleagues, our business, and ourselves.
Our engineering team is looking for software engineers that also have a passion for data engineering with a whatever it takes attitude to support the mission.
You will be responsible to design data analytics solutions from the ground up, combining disparate systems across multiple technology stacks. Your product will underpin triangulated problem management metrics with curated postmortem, TTx, and repair backlogs. Then we’ll go after dashboards and automated metrics for self-service insights into KPI’s, indexes for DRI and postmortem repair effectiveness, and highlight gaps. The output of your work will drive improvements into the product with data-driven decision making, drive discussion via insights at weekly live site checkpoints with service owners, and will be showcased in monthly service health reviews with executives and the senior leadership team (SLT). This work is critical to the “Live Site First” principle of the Division.
We are interested in candidates who excel at cross-functional collaboration and leadership, are able to multitask between projects and teams fluidly, and rapidly prototype new user experiences built on top on new and emerging cloud technologies. You will own the end to end design, implementation, and maintenance of new features areas, delivering them on-time and at high quality. We are particularly interested in candidates with prior Live Site, Operability, Quality of Service, Big Data, Data Analytics, Problem Management, and / or knowledge of Cloud based platform technologies (Azure, AWS, etc.).
At Azure, we can offer you a strong team, exciting challenges, and a fun place to work. The work environment empowers you to have a real impact on millions of end users. This is also a unique opportunity to work with world-class engineers. Apply now for this unique opportunity!
