We’re looking for a talented, experienced, and motivated professional who can add value to our Public Sector organization. In this role, you’ll work with a team of fantastic collaborators who strategize and leverage their knowledge to help Microsoft win new business.
As our Technical Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating tasks across the team, occasionally becoming hands on with some technical tasks. You will be comfortable creating project plans, managing projects, and supporting others to be successful. You will be willing and able to drive clarity and communicate clearly and concisely on deliverables, timelines, follow ups as well as track risks and issues and ensure our teams deliver on time. The ideal candidate must be comfortable engaging with team members, other teams and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure the team is successful.
Responsibilities
Serve as Technical Project Manager for the Solutions Team reporting to the Senior Director
Create project plans, planning documents and initiate projects
Coordinate project efforts across multiple time zones and stakeholder groups
Be comfortable creating work breakdown structures and staffing plans
Track and drive actions, risks, issues and proactively follow up on open items
Create cost estimates, track projects costs for elements including Azure Subscription costs, Web Trends telemetry reports etc.
Develop and manage organizational assets, including walking decks, team websites, SharePoint sites, aliases, and Teams channels.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND 2+ years experience in project management OR Master’s Degree in related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in project management OR a total of 6+ years of project management experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS in Business, Computer Science or relevant degree and 5+ years’ experience in project management
OR Master’s Degree in related field AND 3+ years experience in project management
OR Doctorate Degree in related field
OR equivalent experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
1+ year(s) financial management experience.
Developing strong business relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Strong management skills with a proven track record of successfully driving work-group effectiveness and positive-inclusive cultures.
Experience in working across matrixed and complex business environments encompassing multiple roles and communities.
Proven communication skills and ability to effectively influence across a dynamic organization.
Experience working in distributed virtual teams.
Demonstrated collaboration and negotiation skills that result in positive outcomes for multiple stakeholders.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing through ambiguous scenarios as needed.
Strong attention to detail and excellent presentation skills.
Previous experience of working in development teams, sprint planning and backlog grooming
Excel Microsoft Modern Work skills (Teams, Word, Excel, PPT etc.)
PMP or relevant certification
Skills in Azure DevOps and GitHub
Admin skills in collaboration tools such as SharePoint
Admin skills in reporting tools such as Power BI
Familiarity for tools like Microsoft Planner
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Exposure to sales management systems is a bonus
The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $80,100 to $137,600.
