Job Description Summary
As an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position provides individual and family therapy and group therapy in a dual diagnosis adolescent residential treatment program in Sonoma County, CA.
This full-time position reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor.
· Proficiency in evidence-based group and family therapy modalities for the treatment of dually diagnosed clients.
· Conduct psych-social examinations, crises intervention services and treatment planning.
· Participation in Treatment Team meetings and Case Conference Reviews.
· Knowledge and understanding of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries and related issues.
· Conduct family assessments at the time of admission and re-assessments as required.
· Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation that meets or exceeds relevant legal, ethical and accreditation standards.
· Ability to write clear and concise statements, summarizing client’s feelings, expressions, resistance and response to their treatment plan; goal and objectives.
· Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the client’s history, signs and symptoms.
· Adherence to accreditation standards.
· Age and gender specific counseling skills; aware of needs of different age groups and genders.
· Multi-cultural counseling skills; ability to communicate and aware of the needs of patients of varying cultural backgrounds.

Muir Wood Adolescent & Family Services (Muir Wood), is a Joint Commission accredited, residential treatment program for adolescents with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health issues. Muir Wood operates eight idyllic campuses, located on a total of 26 acres in Sonoma County, CA,. Muir Wood’s treatment team includes full-time, board-certified psychiatrists, medical and nursing staff, psychologists, and full-time Masters-level, licensed therapists. Our individual and family therapists carry a maximum caseload of six clients. In addition, the Muir Wood Learning Center, located and integrated on campus, is a Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accredited supplemental education program led by Masters-level, State-credentialed teachers. Our gender-separate clinical setting is highly individualized, with tailored programming specific for teens and their families.
