Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

We are looking for a dynamic product marketing leader to join our team to ensure that we offer the right services, programs, and enablement materials for customers exploring distributed cloud and multi-cloud environments – a growing and critical segment.

Responsibilities

• Head the team in establishing the messaging strategy for our distributed cloud and multicloud products.
• Drive platform awareness, usage and adoption through positioning, content, customer engagement, and optimization
• Create thought leadership and awareness, addressing key analysts, press, and influencer communities
• Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Field Marketing to support their programs and campaigns, ensure the application of accurate messaging, and continuously improve customer engagement
• Create and drive differentiated and high-quality content for prospects, through all relevant channels to market (direct, indirect, online)
• Influence go-to-market Sales and Marketing campaign strategy, positioning, and packaging

Skills

• Can succinctly articulate a compelling vision for infrastructure-as-a-service
• Possesses strong eye for business in the context of cloud-based services and/or enterprise hardware and software solutions to effectively engage with business leaders, press, and analysts, and Oracle leadership
• Has a proven ability to analyze and act against existing and rapidly changing markets
• Has a strong understanding of infrastructure as a service technologies and customer needs (including enterprises and SaaS companies)
• Has enough technical knowledge of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure services to effectively engage with engineering teams
• Demonstrates strong writing skills. Proven track record explaining technical material to broad audiences. Experience creating and editing content for articles, blogs, white papers, websites, landing pages, and case studies.
• Possesses skill and influence to develop and implement go-to-market strategies
• Experience in public cloud or enterprise hardware product marketing
• Can attract, motivate, and retain a high-caliber team of experienced product managers

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise product management, preferably outbound
• 6+ years of experience in the IaaS or PaaS; enterprise infrastructure or management software
• 2-5 years managing product management teams
• Previously played an active role in a successful agile environment
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters or MBA preferred
