You will work as part of the core compute team for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, own a significant part of the OCI Compute service P&L. You will own the strategy to ensure success for the OCI Compute business, including definition and execution for key capabilities of the OCI Compute business. We are seeking driven, strategic and seasoned Product Managers with cloud experience and a readiness to expand their impact across a division.

Position Overview:

The ideal TPM candidate will be an experienced program manager who is skilled in managing server hardware product development from product inception to launch. The candidate will be familiar with the cloud computing industry and OCI offerings and will be passionate about delivering the best possible hardware to the customer. You will operate as the execution leader and work on identifying the key set of actions that deliver value for the business.

What you will do : As a TPM for product lifecycle team, you will be responsible for managing multiple programs end to end, from requirements closure to end of life. You will drive multiple programs in a highly cross-functional environment which includes product management teams, program managers from engineering team, partner teams, internal customers, supply and demand management teams, component management teams, costing etc. and you will own the overall schedule for these programs. Apart from managing the schedule for the various products in the portfolio, you will own the plan of record for different offerings which include a) Transition planning for these products b) End of life and contingency planning and c) Making sure we are building the product at the right cost and they meet our relentless quality and also our performance standards. This is a fast-paced, challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas.. Using data and key metrics, you will also drive and measure process improvements that enhance our operational effectiveness. You will work in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-changing organization. Preferred Qualification :

  • Experienced in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications.
  • Strong co-ordination capability. Comfortable with leading and driving large meetings with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong business skills, someone who is a fast thinker and can understand business impact behind decisions.
  • Prior experience in developing and managing hardware programs. NPI development experience a plus.
  • Experience with hardware Program lifecycle. Prior experience in Transition and SKU planning.
  • Strong communication skills. Prior experience of Executive communication. Knows to separate forest from trees.
  • Has a strong personality. Has a strong voice, challenges decisions and is not a yes taker.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Prior experience with materials, E&O planning. Supply chain management experience a plus.
  • Strong ownership and someone who is passionate about his programs.
  • Detail oriented and focused with problem at hand.
  • Pro-active and can juggle multiple deliverables at the same time.
  • Capacity management experience a plus.
  • Experience in working with CM/OEM/ODM vendors in product development.
  • Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure constraints including networking, power, space, and cooling.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross functional groups including mechanical Engineering, test, reliability, failure analysis.
  • Understanding of Host provisioning, Virtual machines, imaging and operating system fundamentals.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Cross-organizational communication – comfortable evangelizing ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively, in both verbal and written forms.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, or related field.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.
