Manages a team maintaining and/or implementing software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria.
Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership skills. Detailed knowledge of several applications within a business area needed. BA/BS degree and relevant experience.
As a Senior System Engineer, you will provide system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle Cerner ’s solutions and services. You will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability as well as perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring applications and servers, respond to alarms in a timely manner to prevent client impact and performance degradation. As a member of this team, you will manage changes and project activities while communicating with impacted stakeholders and includes developing and deploying automation tools to optimize daily activities as well as complete assigned incident management tasks. In addition, you will deploy, setup, as well as maintain testing environment as well as be responsible for providing tier III and other support per service requests.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
- At least 2 years system administration and/or system engineering work experience
- At least 6 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience with several or all of the following: OES cluster, edir, AD Group policies, ADFS, Linux/Redhat, Ansible play books, VxRail, IBM SVC, IBM SANS, Nuance Autostore, Dell NAS Isilon, Azure, MFA, VMware Horizon, VMware UAG, VMware SRM, UCS manager, Solarwinds, FTP/SFTP Goanywhere
Expectations
- Must reside in or around the Philadelphia area or be willing to travel onsite if needed (mainly remote).
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
