Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

You will use basic knowledge of software architecture to perform tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture.

Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. Gaining competence in own area and acquiring a higher level understanding of role, processes and procedures. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 0-2 years of previous software engineering or related experience.

We are currently seeking a Tools & Automation Developer to work with its Hospitality Global Business Unit’s Hotels Consulting Team. This role is responsible for actively participating in the development of the HGBU’s applications and similar by writing code, troubleshooting, documenting and deploying updates to the applications, while engaging with tools & automation teams to receive the tasks.

Our successful candidate will be experienced with Oracle Database, SQL/PLSQL and should have worked with some front end Web/GUI development languages like Java/APEX or equivalent and must be familiar with Web Services/REST APIs, XML, JSON etc. This role requires that you be technically curious with a strong desire to understand how things are built and work. This role also requires a forward-thinking openness to new technologies and approaches while remaining vigilantly focused on regulatory strength and maximum availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of modern web applications and backend services.
  • Perform moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes.
  • Write efficient, maintainable, and testable code.

Essential:

  • Minimum one years’ experience in design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. OR under-graduate degree in the field of Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Oracle Database, SQL or PL/SQL
  • Should have worked with front-end Web/GUI development languages like Java/APEX or equivalent
  • Must be familiar with Web Services/REST APIs, XML, JSON etc.
  • Experience in current Windows Server Operating Systems, network components and system storage and backup utilities
  • Oracle Certified Associate 10g/11g or higher
  • Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

  • Relevant technical accreditation, such as OCA, OCP, MCSE, MCDBA, MCITP, CCNA etc.
  • Experience in Oracle RAC, DG installation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of hotel Front Office operating procedures.

Professional Skills:

  • Analytical problem solving skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as relationship building competencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Should be comfortable working independently, as well as being an efficient collaborator with other team members.
