Your Opportunity
Oracle Health Data Platform Operations team is looking for a Senior System Engineer with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and highly available services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and understanding of Oracle Linux Administration to optimize, implement, and maintain our organization’s cloud-based systems.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior System Engineer, you will provide support, monitoring and maintenance of Oracle Health Data Platforms’s applications and services. Apart from operations support, the candidate will also assist with automation, infrastructure provisioning and Cloud migrations. As a member of this team, you will mentor and support associates in daily tasks and troubleshooting and manage changes and project activities, as well as communicate with impacted stakeholders.
Technical skills required:
- Excellent System Admin skills in Unix/Linux. Oracle/Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred.
- GIT source control experience
- Intermediate understanding of fundamental Network concepts (e.g. Routing, DNS, Firewalls)
- Awareness of automated deployments using Github, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills supporting the OS, Storage and Hardware for Applications platforms and Database
- Experience in supporting cloud-base infrastructure (e.g. Oracle OCI Platform)
- Experience of performance monitoring and capacity management
- Essential awareness of operations in a secure environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering or a related field
- At least 2 years system administration and/or system engineering work experience
- Experience managing production systems running Linux and/or UNIX
- Experience with config-as-code solutions like Chef
- Experience with a public cloud provider such as AWS, OCI, or Azure
- Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance applicable for your position
- Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience as a system engineer
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare IT setting
- Familiarity with Oracle database connectivity
- Ability to work with multiple clients simultaneously
- Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Puppet, and other automation skills
- Exceptional ability to negotiate and collaborate across groups to achieve customer success
- Customer focus with experience working with enterprise customers and developers
- Proven track record of successfully releasing enterprise-level cloud services and defining new offerings from ideation, to definition, delivery, launch, and multi-generational releases.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

We are responsible for building and maintaining the cloud computing services and solutions that help us operate with greater efficiency, security, and attention to detail. You will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability as well as perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, security patching, and resource optimization. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring applications and servers, responding to alarms in a timely manner to prevent client impact and performance degradation, and assisting with dns and dhcp setup and network troubleshooting. You will be expected to deliver Systems Management Support through 24X7 On-Call duties & work shifts that provide coverage to all the US time zones.
