The Associate EHS Manager is responsible for complex technical work within a wide range of EHS disciplines. The EHS Associate Manager supports day-to-day operations at the Fremont Factory (Paints and Plastics department) by managing a number of EHS processes, and participating in the inspection and auditing process. Reporting to a Sr. EHS Manager within a manufacturing department, the Associate Manager will play a key role in the incident reporting and analysis process and work closely with Supervisors and associates across multiple business units to develop and implement corrective actions preventing reoccurrence. They will also work with Supervisors to implement best practices within a comprehensive safety management system.
What You’ll Do
Lead day-to-day EHS operations and process management
Help to establish EHS performance goals
Manage the tracking and reporting of EHS metrics and measure performance against key indicators
Establish necessary plans to meet or exceed key performance indicators
Lead accident investigation and communication processes and implement training and tools necessary to ensure that reports on EHS incidents and performance are submitted on a timely basis
Direct the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs necessary to foster a strong EHS culture
Ensure activities related to the management of Hazardous Waste and Dangerous Good shipments are compliant
Identify EHS training opportunities and coordinate sessions accordingly
Drive the implementation of strategic EHS programs and initiatives across multiple internal business teams
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience working with EHS compliance and management systems within manufacturing operations
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety-related discipline
Master’s degree preferred
Certifications – CSP, CHMM, CPE, CIH certifications highly preferred
Practical, hands-on experience with the following: equipment safety and machine guarding, waste management, compliance initiatives, process implementation, risk assessment, root cause analysis
Strong understanding of OSHA regulatory and reporting guidelines
Experience dealing with federal, state and local regulatory agencies
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
Ability to influence and communicate with all levels of management
Evidence of exceptional ability
