Responsibilities
Create and maintain a general contractor network that specializes in installing large-scale commercial level 2 charging and DC-fast charging systems
Manage bid package generation, review, and award processes for civil and electrical construction
Oversee contractor activities at construction sites, lead preconstruction meetings prior to break ground, and resolve field construction issues with stakeholders
Provide actionable input to project design and applications engineering teams regarding constructability
Coordinate with project managers, admins, and third-party vendors to receive materials and equipment
Develop strong relationships with utility companies to optimize for timely energization of new electrical services
Continually innovate the construction process to drive to the lowest possible cost for customers; closely track and manage project budgets and schedules
Aid estimators in generating committed project costs to customers
Appropriately prioritize tasks across a wide-ranging pipeline of projects using internal project management software
Regularly provide high quality progress reports internally and externally; communicate professionally to executive-level business customers
Requirements
3+ years Field Construction Management experience on projects of similar size and complexity
Experience building large power (1 MW+) construction projects preferred
BS Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals – electrical, civil, and mechanical systems – is preferred
Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and expedite project schedules, preferably using Microsoft Project
Practical understanding of AC power systems and single-line electrical diagrams
Experience reviewing and red-lining construction drawing packages
Passionate self-motivation requiring minimal oversight
Maintain an open-minded and positive attitude in a fast-changing industry
Ability to work remotely in a California-based role
Available for overnight travel domestically (up to 50%) as needed to support projects
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Open to candidates anywhere in California (Southern or Northern California)
