What to Expect

The data annotation specialist is responsible for annotating time-based and frequency-based audio data. Serving as the ground truth, accurately labeled data is the foundation and critical ingredient for training powerful models. This role works cohesively with our engineering and production teams to build factory tools and advanced diagnostic systems. Accurate data annotation is essential to the successful buildout and deployment of these systems.

A successful candidate will have high attention to detail, an appreciation for data integrity, and the drive to produce the best possible dataset. In this role you will work with a user interface to label a large variety of incoming audio data.

This is an at-will, temporary position. The assignment is expected to last up to 6 months.

What You’ll Do

  • You will use our labeling interface to label audio files critical to training our models
  • You will interact with the computer engineers on the team to help us improve on the design of an efficient labeling interface
  • You will be expected to gain basic machine learning knowledge to better understand how the labels are used by our learning algorithms, as this will allow you to make more judgement calls on difficult edge cases that might come up during labeling

What You’ll Bring

  • Evidence of exceptional ability
  • Previous work experience as vehicle technician with basic understanding of Noise, Vibration, & Harshness (NVH) is a plus
  • Education, experience, or interest in acoustics or music is plus
  • Experience in mixing or mastering is a plus
  • Ability to discern, breakdown, and understand the extreme nuances of sound
  • Patient with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Passionate and curious about technology
  • Available to work overtime as needed
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly and be able to prioritize assignments
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing keyboard/mouse
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed and quality focused
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be insured
  • Interest in machine learning or neural networks is a plus
