Tesla is seeking an amazing equipment engineer to facilitate integration of in house developed automated manufacturing systems used for worldwide production of vehicle, cell and energy products. Responsibilities
Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration, qualification, and GR&R.
Participate in tester handoff documentation, troubleshooting guides, critical spares, and lead efforts to smoothen the transition and integration of testers in a production line.
Participate in sustaining tester equipment to meet availability and yield targets.
Diagnoses tester equipment failures, find root cause and work cross-functionally to improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Lead equipment upgrades with a focus on serviceability, reliability, and process capability.
Provide hands-on training to customers to troubleshoot and resolve tester equipment issues.
Assist in programming ladder logic and structured text on multiple PLC controller platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens and Beckhoff).
Be able to provide 24/7 support when needed to ensure line down situations are attended to and solved in a timely manner.
Requirements
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Basic ability to perform data analysis via scripting languages such as Python or R.
Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Effective at summarizing/presenting data in a manner that is easily digestible to various technical and non-technical audiences.
Hands-on experience with robotics, manufacturing, automation, and other various engineered hardware is a plus.
Experience in mechanical or electrical design work is a plus.
Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for overall team success.
Possess strong communication skills and a preference for delivering as part of a team.
