Full Job Description
Role: As a team member of Tesla, you will be working on fabrication, repair or preventative maintenance projects hand to hand with you supervisor, maintenance and equipment engineers in order to improve equipment OEE and production line efficiency / ergonomics. Cutting, welding, grinding and machining are activities that will take place on a daily basis while making sure all the safety protocols and PPE requirements are being followed.
Responsibilities:
Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
Ability to design, fabricate and build basic and/or complex structures, supports or framework in the execution of daily tasks.
Ability to Weld using ARC, MIG, TIG processes.
Ability to fabricate metal or plastic parts using a lathe, mill or CNC.
Ability to operate, maintain and program a CNC plasma cutter.
Ability to perform oxy/acetylene torch, plasma arc cutting processes.

Utilize handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders
Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool
Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables
Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
Identify equipment defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualification requirements:
3+years of experience of welding/fabrication preferred
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Relevant technical or vocational training or certification preferred
Experience with GMAW and GTAW in aluminum and steel preferred
Work in a team environment and respect all teammates physical demands and abilities
Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
Regularly perform repetitive tasks
Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane
