We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Global Supply Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain components and parts. This person will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Global Supply Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. Working towards good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with expert overall sourcing expertise.
Responsibilities
Drive price negotiations processes to ensure that Tesla’s semiconductor pricing are best in class
Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers
Develop spend strategies, identify potential suppliers, analyze supplier capabilities, select suppliers and determine prices, terms, and conditions of agreements.
Monitor current category market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities.
Generate and send forecast to tier 2 vendors to ensure visibility down the supply chain
Keep track of supplier capacity, ramp schedule to meet NPI and mass production need
Escalate and expedite delivery from supplier if applicable
Work with design engineer for BoM scrubbing to ensure preferred vendor selection
Work collaboratively with other GSM to ensure the price implementation at CMs
Hold QBR with vendors to review supplier performance and scorecard
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel. SQL and Tableau preferred.
