Tesla is looking for a Mechanical Designer to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction project that requires exceptional talent. In this role, you will be asked to be the mechanical designer for the design and engineering efforts to support construction of infrastructure development, from concept level to production.
What You’ll Do
Develop process construction packages & engineering drawings for permitting and construction
Layout equipment with planned move-in / move-out path, maintenance access
Produce and update material take-offs and equipment schedules from Revit model families
Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and pipe routing plans
Perform field walks, write up field reports and punch lists and develop as-built drawings
Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure that all technical areas are covered and that all project objectives and schedules are met
Resolving design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines
Adhere to common drafting standards
What You’ll Bring
Must be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT
Demonstrated ability to understand and model complex infrastructure for manufacturing facilities using 2D and 3D drafting/modeling software.
Minimum of 4 years design experience using Revit to model HVAC systems. Includes wet (cooling water) and dry (air) systems.
Minimum of 4 years design experience using AutoCAD for P&ID creation and drawing updates
Work experience should include projects from the following: commercial offices, mission critical/data centers, bio-tech, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing
Familiar with following types of calculations: duct static pressure drop, pump head, NPSHa
Basic knowledge of the following: International Mechanical code, SMACNA duct construction standards, ASHRAE 62 and 90.1
Knowledge of different piping systems and joining methods
Plumbing and Fire Protection design experience is a plus
