Responsible for the daily training, performance appraisal and other management work of team staff.
Responsible for daily work such as monitoring staff timecards, managing work schedules, coordinating time-off request to not upset the flow of business, on-site 5S, equipment management, monitor driver productivity and efficiency and provide feedback and coaching to drivers and staff on ways to improve efficiency and productivity, etc.
Accountable for timely communication and distribution of monthly driver scorecards to drivers. Coach drivers on all improvements that can be made to Key Performance Indicators including productivity, efficiency, damage record, and safety metrics.
Analyze data related to damage / accidents / safety ratios caused by logistics drivers as well as yard staff and identify and promote ways to enhance performance to meet necessary company and regulatory standards.
Maintain effective communication and coordination with relevant departments to solve various problems encountered on the job site in a timely manner.
Serve as a liaison with Logistics dispatch team and drivers to ensure that loads are distributed based on load factor, volume, driver’s availability within Hours-of-Service rules, available equipment, etc.
Responsible for ensuring drivers know and understand Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMSCR). This includes monitoring and audit activities and other operating and communication systems of Driver’s Record of Duty Status (Daily Log, Geotab), pre-trip reporting, Drivers’ Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) to ensure compliance of both regulatory and company rules and requirements.
Work in conjunction with the Logistic Dispatchers and act as a first line of contact for incidents or issues that occur while the driver is on the road. This includes supporting Safety and Quality support teams by ensuring that drivers are following reporting procedures set forth.
Communicate key issues and related information to drivers and staff. This includes any supporting information that will improve driver relations including but not limited to; submitting trips sheets; policy and procedure changes; payroll information; dispatch changes; holiday and time off administration; new benefit information; Driver Handbook and the use of associate tools such as Self-Service.
Continue to promote the quality improvement and efficiency optimization of on-site operation, discover the improvement points of problems in the process of on-site operation, and continue to track until the problem is solved.
Assist with the coordination of maintenance on trucks and equipment with the Maintenance Manager and ensure that there are adequate trucks and equipment available to handle daily operations.
According to the needs of business development, complete other tasks designated by the management.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above in logistics related majors are preferred.
3-5 years and above experience in logistics site operation or warehouse management of OEMs, and team management experience of more than 30 people.
