What to Expect

Tesla Inc. is seeking a Technical Product Manager, Content Operations to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. As the bridge between our engineers and our customers, you will be authoring customer-facing documentation that showcases the hard work going on behind the scenes. Styles of documentation include, but are not limited to, release notes, in-vehicle and mobile app notifications, and UI copy within vehicle apps.

What You’ll Do

  • Gather source information and requests from cross-functional subject matter experts to produce easy to understand customer-facing documentation.
  • Collaborate and foster excellent working relationships with subject matter experts from all levels of the organization.
  • Prioritize the development of new and/or existing content based on existing deadlines and urgency of new requests.
  • Work closely with Firmware and Program Management teams to keep track of upcoming changes and release roadmaps.
  • Manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software (such as JIRA, SharePoint, and Confluence).
  • Write content according to a style guide and enforce organization standards.
  • Conduct document reviews and collect approvals from stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of the technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with UI Localization team to get content localized for each release.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience writing release notes or similar documents for a fast-paced development environment
  • Experience writing release notes or similar documents for a fast-paced development environment
  • Positive attitude toward changes and late-stage project scope updates (which often times are constantly changing until the last second).
  • Ability to edit and create documentation that is accurate, complete, clear, specific, and as concise as possible.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to peers, people from various parts of the organization, non-technical people, and third-party consumers.
  • Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and evaluate priorities.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Version control (Git)
  • Aspiration to work with C++, Go, Python
