What to Expect

The Project Manager will be tasked with various duties in Tesla’s Lathrop Castings and CNC Machining facility, which will include team communications, manage introduction of engineering changes, strong partnerships between cross-functional groups to develop a schedule for key deliverables, track their progress against projected plans, and ensure projected goals against Key Performance Indicators are met with exceptional quality, performance and cost.

What You’ll Do

Manage team communications & logistics

Track project milestones including task duration and resource usage

Negotiate with vendors and set up vendor accounts as required

Track and maintain supplier records

Generate Purchase Orders for Tesla Lathrop via Warp

Create, manage, and update project scope, task lists and timelines

Create reports showing critical path activities and schedules

Ensure proper closeout of the entire project/program

Create, manage, and update project budget and costs

Lead and conduct product trial Preparation: Ensure part availability, line readiness

Complete Trial Report: Document observations, analysis, and results, make recommendations as needed and drive solutions. Record all issues found during trials and help drive to closure

Provide feedback to technical project/program manager and cross-functional team members on issues, yield impact

Support validation of manufacturing

Manage engineering changes and bill of materials (MBOM)

Perform project walks with system owners

Assist with writing technical documents

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other relevant technical discipline, and 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or project management systems and methodologies

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work with all levels of project staff and organization

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, able to multi-task, meet critical. deadlines with eye for accuracy and attention to details

Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems

Proven excellent computer skills and be able to demonstrate proficiency with MS Office products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Willingness to be hands-on with hands on projects throughout the factory

Demonstrated Part / Product Development experience

Basic knowledge of CAD is required. CATIA experience is desirable

Organized, dependable and self-directed

Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
